CloudFordge ("we", "us", or "our") operates the CloudFordge platform at cloudfordge.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using CloudFordge, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account data: Name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
  • Profile data: Optional bio you add to your profile.
  • OAuth data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

2.2 Usage data we collect automatically

  • Exam progress: Which questions you answered, whether your answer was correct, and time taken.
  • Enrollments: Which certification exams you enrolled in.
  • Bookmarks: Questions you saved for later review.
  • Theme preference: Light or dark mode, stored locally in your browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the CloudFordge practice exam platform.
  • To show your progress, accuracy stats, and readiness scores.
  • To send transactional emails (email verification, account deletion confirmation).
  • To respond to support requests sent through the contact form.
  • To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secured MySQL database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only. We apply industry-standard security measures, but no system is 100% secure.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

CloudFordge uses:

  • Session cookies: Managed by NextAuth.js to keep you signed in. These are necessary for the service to function.
  • Local storage: We store your theme preference (cf-theme) in your browser's local storage.

We do not use third-party analytics cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Google OAuth: If you use "Sign in with Google", Google's privacy policy applies to the data they share with us. We only receive your name, email, and profile picture.
  • Email delivery: We use an SMTP provider to send transactional emails. Your email address is passed to this provider solely for delivery purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which will permanently remove all associated data including your answers, enrollments, and bookmarks.

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 2 years for support history purposes.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all data we hold about you via your profile page.
  • Correction: Update your name and bio from your profile settings.
  • Deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings. This action is irreversible.
  • Portability: Contact us to request an export of your data.

9. Children's Privacy

CloudFordge is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of CloudFordge after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
